Japan Reports Around 3,800 New COVID-19 Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] In Japan, there were over 3,800 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to NHK, as of 8 PM on the 30th, the total number of new infections in Japan was 3,834, including 944 cases in the Tokyo area.
This is the second highest daily number of confirmed cases following the 3,877 cases reported on the 26th. Japan's cumulative confirmed cases reached 231,928, and the death toll increased by 55 on the day to a total of 3,452.
As confirmed cases continue to rise, the shortage of hospital beds has led to a sharp increase in people waiting for hospitalization at home or in accommodation facilities.

This is a fourfold increase in two months. The number of patients recuperating at home has increased 15 times in two months.
