Two Aftershocks Occur in Croatia Suffering from Severe Damage
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that two aftershocks occurred on the 30th (local time) in the central region of Croatia, where dozens of casualties were caused by an earthquake.
The aftershocks occurred at 5:15 a.m. (Greenwich Mean Time, GMT) in Petrinja, located 50 km south of the capital Zagreb, with magnitudes of 4.8 and 4.7 respectively.
In Petrinja, a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 occurred the previous day, reportedly killing at least seven people and injuring 20. Rescue teams worked overnight to save lives but reported no additional casualties.

Due to the earthquake, electricity has not been supplied in the city of Petrinja until the morning of the 30th. The European Union (EU) is reportedly planning to send rescue teams to the affected area.
