613 New COVID-19 Cases Nationwide as of 6 PM... 76 Fewer Than Previous Day

According to health authorities and local governments including Seoul, a total of 613 new confirmed cases tested positive for COVID-19 from midnight to 6 p.m. on this day. This number is 76 fewer than the 689 cases recorded at the same time the previous day.
Among the 613 cases reported by each city and province, 438 cases (71.5%) were in the metropolitan area, and 175 cases (28.5%) were in non-metropolitan areas.
By region, Seoul reported 209 cases, Gyeonggi 177, Incheon 52, Busan 43, Gangwon 34, Daegu 26, Ulsan and Chungnam 16 each, Gyeongbuk 9, Chungbuk 8, Gyeongnam 7, Jeonbuk 6, Jeonnam 4, and Gwangju and Jeju 3 each.
No new confirmed cases have been reported so far in Daejeon and Sejong.
Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced as of 0 a.m. on the 31st is expected to increase. Considering the recent upward trend in cases, it is possible that the number will reach around 1,000.
On the previous day, an additional 361 cases were added by midnight, bringing the final total to 1,050.
Major infection clusters continue to spread in places such as churches, daycare centers, and nursing facilities.

Regarding a church in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, a total of 44 people have been confirmed positive as of midnight, following the first patient (index case) on the 27th. In a daycare center case in Boryeong-si, Chungnam, 8 people have been infected and are currently undergoing treatment.
