KEAB evaluated the engineering education system of the advanced engineering education programs operated by nine departments of the College of Engineering at Mokpo National University (Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Convergence Software, Electrical and Control Engineering, Information Security, Information Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Computer Engineering) and notified the accreditation results.
As a result of the evaluation, Computer Engineering achieved the highest score and received a 6-year accreditation period, while Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Convergence Software, Electrical and Control Engineering, Information Security, Information Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, and Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering received a 3-year accreditation period with excellent scores.
The engineering education accreditation system conducted by KEAB sets the level of engineering education that engineering students must learn among Washington Accord member countries (20 full members) and recognizes that the educational level of departments is equivalent to international standards through performance-based accreditation.
Mokpo National University has introduced and operated the engineering education accreditation system since 2005 to improve the quality of engineering education at an international level. From July 12 to 14, a KEAB accreditation visiting evaluation team consisting of 13 members visited the university and conducted a practical evaluation and advisory session targeting the nine advanced programs operated by the College of Engineering.
