View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 30th that H5 type avian influenza (AI) antigen was detected during the live chicken inspection process at a slaughterhouse located in Sangju on the 29th.
The poultry in question was shipped from a broiler farm located in Nonsan-si, Chungnam Province, and tested positive for AI during a rapid test conducted before slaughter. The high pathogenicity test conducted by the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency is expected to take 1 to 2 days.
Gyeongbuk Province has completely suspended slaughtering at the slaughterhouse, implemented vehicle access control, and carried out thorough disinfection and other quarantine measures.
