[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that Minister Jeon Hae-cheol held a situation inspection meeting with related agencies on the morning of the 30th regarding the capsizing accident of the fishing vessel 32m Minho off Jeju, urging, "Please mobilize all available administrative resources, including the Coast Guard, to thoroughly search for the missing persons."
The accident occurred after a fishing vessel capsized around 7:43 p.m. on the 29th about 1.4 nautical miles northwest of Jeju Port, and was completely destroyed after being pushed by high waves and colliding with the breakwater of Jeju Port. Immediately after the accident, the Coast Guard and local governments, along with related agencies, have been closely cooperating to conduct search and rescue operations.
It is estimated that there were 4 Korean nationals and 3 Indonesians on board the vessel, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety dispatched an on-site situation manager to the scene for prompt accident response.

Minister Jeon instructed, "As soon as the missing persons are found, arrange ambulances to transport them to hospitals for treatment, and do your best to support the families of the victims," adding, "Pay special attention to the safety of the rescue workers."
