Jeonnam National University Biomedical Engineering Students Develop 'Waist Band' for Electrocardiogram Measurement
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Undergraduate students from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Chonnam National University have developed a 'waist band' that makes electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement easy.
On the 29th, according to Chonnam National University, the biomedical engineering students developed the 'Minimal Restriction Unconscious Wearable ECG Self-Monitoring System' and won the special award, the Chairman Award of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at the 2020 Engineering Festival (E2FESTA) Creative Comprehensive Design Competition.

The 'waist band' they developed is a new form factor wireless wearable ECG measurement system designed to solve the inconveniences of existing wearable ECG measurement systems.
By simply wearing it like clothing, it monitors ECG, revolutionizing the convenience of ECG measurement and is expected to greatly aid in managing heart diseases in daily life.
