According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) on the 29th, Mr. A, who was incarcerated at the Eastern Detention Center and tested positive for COVID-19, died on the 27th. Gwak Jin, head of the CDCH Patient Management Team, stated, "The deceased had pre-existing conditions and had been receiving treatment related to these conditions at the detention center's medical facility since admission. During this time, COVID-19 infection was confirmed through mass testing, and he was subsequently transferred to an external hospital for treatment before passing away."
