The Excellent Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Rural Resident evaluation selects six people in the province by assessing activities in five areas?resident integration, entrepreneurial efforts, community connectivity, development potential, and exemplary reasons?through an external evaluation panel.
Vice Chairman Lee Byung-woo, who has been active as the vice chairman of the Damyang Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Association since 2018, returned to farming in Geumseong-myeon in 2015 and has been operating ‘Jukrim Farm,’ cultivating Songhwa mushrooms and raising flower beetles as a sixth-year returnee farmer, leading communication between residents and returnee farmers.
He also participated in various return-to-farming and return-to-village expos to attract urban residents and pioneered sales markets for products of returnee farmers. Through active exchanges among members by learning farming techniques, he contributed to increasing the settlement rate of return-to-farming and return-to-village residents.
