Na Kyung-won: "All My Accusation Cases Dismissed... Truth Prevails and Choo Mi-ae's Prosecution Defeated"
"Yoon Seok-yeol Impeachment, the Final Stage of Judicial Takeover"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Former Liberty Korea Party floor leader Na Kyung-won stated on the 27th that the prosecution’s decision to dismiss all charges related to her is “a victory of truth and a defeat for the Chu Mi-ae prosecution,” adding, “It is a natural conclusion. Power may temporarily suppress the truth, but it cannot overcome it.”
On the same day, Na said on Facebook, “The very motive for starting this investigation was extremely impure and malicious. External forces were mobilized to flood with complaints, and the Democratic Party repeatedly shouted ‘Kill Na Kyung-won.’ How baseless must the cases have been for even Lee Sung-yoon, head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, to hesitate to initiate an investigation?”
Na added, “Since this regime cannot help but torment me, the Democratic Party and Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae forced the prosecution to conduct a large-scale oppressive investigation. Even after suffering the humiliation of mass warrant rejections and relentlessly digging, nothing was found, and in the end, they surrendered completely before the truth.”
Na criticized, “There are those who talk about a ‘legal cartel.’ It is nothing but a convenient sophism. Who conducted the investigation? Lee Sung-yoon of the Central District Prosecutors’ Office. Who is behind it? Minister Chu. Who is the leader? It is the Moon Jae-in administration. Are they saying that I and this administration form a cartel? This administration is now speaking without even knowing what they are saying.”
Na continued, “Of course, since the result is so ironic and embarrassing, they probably want to insist on nonsense. The Na Kyung-won investigation, which was initially started to cover up the crimes of the Cho Kuk and Chung Kyung-shim family and dilute the issue, ironically highlighted the crimes and heavy sentencing even more. It is like adding fuel to the fire in the Cho Kuk scandal.”
Na stated, “This administration, having failed to oust Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl and having its disciplinary actions nullified before the conscience of judges, is now openly bringing up ‘impeachment of the Prosecutor General.’ This is the final stage of this administration’s judicial takeover in three steps. Abuse of personnel and disciplinary authority is the first stage, the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials is the second, and now the third stage is ‘weeding out judges and prosecutors.’ With legislative dictatorship holding 180 seats, they intend to remove judges and prosecutors they dislike through impeachment.”
Na concluded, “We are already living in a country we have never experienced before, and I am concerned that unprecedented events will continue to unfold. However, I believe in the conscience alive in the hearts of the majority of the Korean people. The conscience of legal professionals and public officials standing firm in various places will protect our constitutional order.”
