Seoul Reports 362 New Cases Yesterday... 40 Infected at Disabled Facility in Songpa-gu

[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Following nursing homes, long-term care hospitals, and correctional facilities in Seoul, a cluster infection of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has also occurred in a residential facility for people with disabilities.

As of midnight on the 27th, Seoul city announced that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Seoul area increased by 362 from the previous day, bringing the total cumulative confirmed cases to 17,430.

On the previous day, 35 confirmed cases were reported at a residential facility for people with disabilities located in Songpa-gu, Seoul, bringing the total number of confirmed cases related to this facility to 40 so far.

Additionally, there were 7 new confirmed cases related to Dongbu Detention Center in Songpa-gu (cumulative total 522), 7 at a long-term care hospital in Guro-gu (cumulative total 160), 5 at a church in Gangseo-gu (cumulative total 237), 2 at a nursing facility in Yangcheon-gu (cumulative total 28), and 2 related to a church in Geumcheon-gu (cumulative total 25).

Other cases include 157 confirmed through contact with other confirmed patients, 19 through contact with confirmed patients from other cities or provinces, 3 imported cases, and 120 cases under investigation for infection routes.

In Seoul, one COVID-19 death was reported on each of the 25th and 26th, bringing the total cumulative deaths to 157.

So far, 9,589 people have been declared recovered and discharged, while 7,684 are currently undergoing isolation treatment.
