7 out of 9 COVID-19 Cases in Gwangju on the 26th Related to Church

According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 26th, 9 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed, newly registered as numbers 1021 to 1029. Among them, 7 were confirmed to be related to Gwangju Cheongsa Church.
Cases 1023 to 1029 were investigated as related to Cheongsa Church.
Following case 959 confirmed on the 24th, a total of 30 confirmed cases have occurred in Gwangju so far through contact tracing and testing.
A total of 201 tests were conducted, with 161 negative results and 19 awaiting test results.
Gwangju Cheongsa Church has been ordered to close its facilities and prohibit gatherings until January 6 of next year, with on-site epidemiological investigations underway and administrative actions planned for violations of quarantine rules.
An on-site temporary screening clinic has been set up at the nearby Usandong Administrative Welfare Center and will operate until 5 PM on the same day.
Case 1021 is a resident of Ssangchon-dong, Seo-gu, confirmed positive in connection with Evergreen Silver House (nursing home).
Since case 868 was confirmed on the 20th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases related to Evergreen Nursing Home has increased to 46.
Case 1022 is a resident of Geumho-dong, Seo-gu, with an unknown infection route.
Meanwhile, Gwangju City quarantine authorities will operate a ‘temporary screening clinic’ at Gwangju City Hall Plaza from 1 PM on the 27th. Including weekends, anonymous and free testing will be conducted daily from 9 AM to 6 PM, collecting only mobile phone numbers.
