Report of Suspected Highly Pathogenic AI Case at Broiler Breeder Farm in Yesan, Chungnam
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for Avian Influenza announced on the 25th that a suspected case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) was reported at a broiler breeder farm in Yesan, Chungnam (raising approximately 35,000 birds).
After receiving a suspicion report from the farm due to an increase in mortality, the Chungnam Animal Hygiene Testing Laboratory conducted a rapid test, which confirmed a positive result. A detailed examination is currently underway. The determination of high pathogenicity is expected within 1 to 3 days.
