[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] On the 25th, Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said regarding the court's decision to reinstate Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, "The court did not grant Yoon a carte blanche."
Lee stated on his social media (SNS) that "Prosecutor General Yoon should feel responsible as a public official."
He pointed out, "The court suspended the disciplinary action due to procedural flaws but took the two disciplinary reasons seriously," adding, "It criticized the prosecution's surveillance documents on judges as highly inappropriate and judged that there was some explanation regarding the obstruction of inspection related to the Channel A case."
He continued, "The party will thoroughly review the prosecution's issues specified in the court's decision," emphasizing, "In particular, we will systematically continue prosecutorial reform to prevent abuse of prosecutorial power, unfair investigations, and political interference."
