Regarding Gwangju Cheongsa Church, where a cluster of cases occurred the previous day, 5 additional cases were confirmed.
Case 993 is a resident of Geumho-dong, Seo-gu, and the infection route has not yet been identified.
Cases 994, 996, 997, 999, and 1000 are related to Gwangju Cheongsa Church. After case 959 was confirmed the previous day, tests were conducted on identified contacts, resulting in 13 positive cases so far.
An administrative order for facility closure and gathering ban has been issued for two weeks until January 6 next year, and a full inspection of about 500 people is planned.
So far, 150 tests have been conducted, and 123 people are awaiting results.
Case 995, a resident of Sansu-dong, Dong-gu, was found to have had contact with case 964. Case 964 had contact with case 963, whose infection route remains unknown.
Case 998 is a resident of Wolgok-dong, Gwangsan-gu, and had contact with case 970. Case 970 had contact with Jinju case 154 and was confirmed positive the previous day.
Recently, in the Gwangju area, the spread continues mainly around the missionary facility Sangju BTJ Yeolbang Center with 44 cases, a similar door-to-door sales group with 18 cases, Gwangju Christian Hospital with 13 cases, Evergreen Silver House (nursing home) with 41 cases, Jeju 7080 Live Cafe with 4 cases, and Gwangju Cheongsa Church with 13 cases.
