From Christmas Carol Medley to Online Art Exhibitions, Performances, and Craft Class Videos: Four Cultural Arts Contents Uploaded to Yangcheon-gu Office Official YouTube Channel
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) has released various ‘stay-at-home’ cultural and artistic video contents on its official YouTube channel YangcheonTV to comfort residents weary from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
For this year-end, the videos released on YangcheonTV include a total of four videos: the Yangcheon-gu Choir’s ‘Ontact Carol Medley’ and three videos featuring cultural and artistic content such as artworks, performances, and craft classes by 13 community art clubs active in Yangcheon-gu.
The Yangcheon-gu Choir, after releasing the ontact choir performance video ‘We Offer Our Loving Hearts’ on YouTube last October, additionally released a ‘Carol Medley’ video for residents on the 14th of this month to celebrate the Christmas season.
This Carol Medley consists of two songs: ‘Let’s Meet on the Day of the First Snow’ and ‘Deck The Hall.’
In particular, ‘Deck The Hall’ features participation from the families of the Yangcheon-gu Choir members, creating a warm year-end and New Year atmosphere.
The ‘Ah~Star Festival,’ hosted by the Yangcheon Community Art Club Council, which actively promotes everyday culture as art in the Yangcheon-gu area, was also held online through the YouTube channel.
The ‘Ah~Star Festival’ is a community art festival where residents enjoy various cultural events such as musical instrument performances, art, and crafts together. It has been held annually since 2017 and is now in its fourth year.
This year, a total of 125 participants, including 13 community art clubs and 3 individual community artists active in Yangcheon-gu, present three content videos: an online art exhibition, music performances, and craft classes.
The online art exhibition video was released on the 21st, and the remaining two videos will be sequentially released through Yangcheon-gu Office’s official YouTube channel YangcheonTV.

Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, “Although it has become difficult to hold face-to-face cultural events as before, non-face-to-face cultural content through videos allows all residents to enjoy various contents at any time and place without restrictions on the number of viewers, which can be seen as an improvement in accessibility to culture and arts. Yangcheon-gu plans to continuously prepare various non-face-to-face cultural and artistic contents that can heal residents’ hearts in the post-COVID era, so we ask for the interest and participation of all residents.”
