Year-End Shopping Opportunities Pour In on E-Commerce Platforms
Coupang, Tmon, Wemakeprice and Other E-commerce Companies Hold Year-End Shopping Events One After Another
E-commerce companies are consecutively launching year-end promotional events offering significant discounts. These are expected to play a role in boosting consumer sentiment, which has been dampened by the resurgence of COVID-19.
Tmon is holding a 'Half-Price Essential Goods Discount' event until the 31st. This event considers that consumption of major food ingredients and daily necessities has more than doubled this year as people spend more time at home due to the spread of COVID-19.
Customers who add products from this event to their shopping cart and make a purchase will receive a shopping cart discount coupon of up to 50%. Paid membership Super Save members can get up to 250,000 KRW off when purchasing over 500,000 KRW. General members can use discount coupons of up to 30%. All products in the event are offered with free shipping regardless of the amount, and even without using coupons, customers can enjoy budget-friendly shopping at the lowest online prices.
Coupang is running 'Digital Week' until the 29th for customers preparing for the new semester. This event gathers digital products needed for studying at home in one place, offering up to 20% discounts.
Popular domestic and international brands such as Samsung Electronics, Apple, LG Electronics, Hansung Computer, Britz, and Xiaomi are participating in large numbers. The product range includes PCs, monitors, tablets, mobile phones, watches, earphones, speakers, and cameras. Especially for students attending online classes, the latest laptops and earphones have card discounts of up to 200,000 KRW.
The '2020 Coupang Beauty Awards,' which gathers this year's best beauty items in one place, is also underway. This event, running until the 28th, features a total of 40 popular brands including AHC, Senka, Age 20's, IOPE, and Lanvin, offering discounts of up to 69%.
Wemakeprice (WMP) has partnered with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Small Enterprise and Market Service, and LG Uplus to hold the 'K-MAS Bangcheong GET' event, launching live broadcasts and distributing discount coupons to promote youth malls. This event, held until the 27th, supports 94 youth stores operating in 28 traditional market youth malls nationwide.
