Government Awards for Information and Communications Open for Applications Until the 8th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] The government is accepting nominations for the 'Information and Communication, Information Culture Merit Government Awards' recognizing contributors to the development of information and communication technology until January 8.
The awards for contributors to information and communication development have been given annually since 1955, and awards for contributors to information culture development have been given annually since 1988. Since 2021, these two have been integrated into a single nomination process for both information and communication development merit awards and information culture development merit awards.
The call for nominations for the 'Information and Communication and Information Culture Merit Government Awards' is open until January 8, 2021. Submissions can be made via Onnara electronic document submission, email, or postal mail. Related forms can be downloaded from the websites of the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Information and Broadcasting Telecommunications Federation, and the Korea Intelligent Information Society Agency.
Award candidates will be selected through field evaluation, comprehensive evaluation, and merit evaluation. Recipients of the information and communication development merit awards will be honored at the 66th Information and Communication Day ceremony (April 2021). Recipients of the information culture development merit awards will be honored at the 34th Information Culture Month ceremony (June 2020).
