Jeongeup-si Selected for '2021 Urban Regeneration Preliminary Project'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 24th that the Yeonji and Sigiji districts, which are establishing an urban regeneration activation plan, have been finally selected for the 2021 Urban Regeneration Preliminary Project, a public contest project hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The Urban Regeneration Preliminary Project is a program that supports small-scale urban regeneration to enable residents to solve problems such as poor residential environments and declining commercial districts on their own.
It supports small-scale point regeneration projects promoted by local communities in urban regeneration New Deal project areas to expand resident participation and strengthen capabilities.
Additionally, based on the experience of small-scale projects, it aims to strengthen connectivity by establishing local governance that can develop into an urban regeneration New Deal project in the future.
The Yeonji and Sigiji district urban regeneration preliminary project is themed "Bustling Our Neighborhood" and consists of projects such as ▲ Bustling leader education and creation of communication spaces ▲ Bustling resident happiness programs ▲ Bustling landscape projects, reflecting a new start for sustainable old downtown regeneration and small-scale Green New Deal policies.
This project will invest a total of 150 million KRW, including 75 million KRW in national funds, with construction completion scheduled by the end of next year.
