Gangjin-gun Officially Begins Expansion and Paving Construction of County Road No. 3
Expansion of Access Road Infrastructure to Gaudo Tourist Complex and Jeonnam Public Officials Training Institute
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 23rd that it will officially begin a project to widen and improve the road alignment of County Road No. 3, a 6.647 km section between Hakmyeong-ri, Gangjin-eup and Mandeok-ri, Doam-myeon, from the existing width of 6.5m to 9.5m, in order to improve the access road following the opening of the Jeonnam Public Officials Training Institute and the development of the Gau-do tourist complex.
To resolve traffic congestion and inconvenience caused by narrow road width due to increased traffic volume, a total project cost of 14.5 billion KRW, including 3 billion KRW of provincial funds, will be invested with the goal of completion by December 2022.
In this regard, next year, the road alignment improvement work in front of Nampo Bridge, Nampo-ri, Gangjin-eup will be prioritized and promoted concurrently with land compensation.

Lee Seung-ok, the county governor, said, “Once the project is completed, it will serve not only as a major arterial road connecting National Road No. 2 and the Jeonnam Public Officials Training Institute, but also enable residents using County Road No. 3 to use the road more safely and conveniently.” He added, “It is expected to greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy in connection with the development of the Gau-do tourist complex.”
