Gwangju City to Operate Urban Landscape Recording System Starting from the 24th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 23rd that the development of the ‘Gwangju Metropolitan City Urban Landscape Recording System’ has been completed and will be operational from the 24th.
The ‘Gwangju City Urban Landscape Recording System’ was promoted as the ‘Urban Landscape Recording and Management System Construction Project’ in November last year, and the website linked with mobile was opened last month.
Gwangju expects significant changes in the city’s urban landscape within a short period due to rapid urban growth such as residential development projects in the downtown area and the expansion of industrial complexes on the city outskirts. Therefore, the city established an urban landscape recording system that can systematically collect and record various urban landscape images of Gwangju.
Citizens can share and utilize various urban landscape images such as natural landscapes including Mudeungsan, Yeongsangang, and Hwangryonggang, cultural assets, schools, major buildings, and city areas through the system, and view them from desired angles on the screen using a mouse or hand with 360VR (Virtual Reality).
Gwangju plans to further advance the system by collecting and managing the changing appearances of Gwangju’s natural, historical, and cultural landscapes so that citizens can find urban identity and establish the city image, sharing and utilizing it as valuable basic data.
