[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for Avian Influenza announced on the 22nd that H5 subtype avian influenza (AI) antigen was detected at a duck farm (approximately 6,000 ducks raised) located in Eumseong-gun, Chungbuk.
On the 22nd, after receiving a suspicious report from the farm about a decrease in egg-laying rate, the Chungbuk Animal Hygiene Laboratory conducted a detailed examination and confirmed the detection of the H5 antigen. The determination of whether it is highly pathogenic is expected within 1 to 3 days.
