Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station Awards Commendation to Citizen Who Saved a Life
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju (Chief Jeong Jaeyoon) highly praised Mr. Kim Raejun (45) for his efforts in saving a life and selected him as a 'Citizen Police Officer in Our Neighborhood,' presenting him with a commendation.
According to the Gwangsan Police Station on the 22nd, Mr. Kim discovered a woman attempting an extreme act by climbing over the railing of a bridge in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, at around 2:20 PM on the 22nd of last month, and stopped her, saving a precious life.
At the time, the woman was in a precarious situation with about half of her body over the railing. Mr. Kim immediately got out of his vehicle, approached her, and held her body, while three other citizens ran over to assist in the rescue.
Persuaded by the citizens, the woman safely returned home together with a female citizen who had participated in the rescue.
