KCC Opens Sejong City Viewer Media Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] The Korea Communications Commission opened the Sejong City Viewer Media Center on the 22nd.
The Viewer Media Center was first established in Busan in 2005, followed by Gwangju, Gangwon, Daejeon, Seoul, and others, and the tenth center was opened in Sejong City. The Sejong City Viewer Media Center spans 2,467㎡ and is equipped with broadcasting production facilities such as production studios, screening rooms, media experience centers, one-person media production rooms, and recording studios, as well as broadcasting equipment including camcorders and drones.
Utilizing broadcasting facilities, equipment, and professional instructors, it provides various media education services to 350,000 Sejong citizens. It is free for not only Sejong citizens but also any citizens nationwide who wish to use it. Media accessibility for citizens in the Chungnam region, where there is no Viewer Media Center yet, is also expected to improve.
Additionally, after completing a separate 2-hour training course, users can borrow various filming equipment and facilities such as broadcasting and radio studios and one-person media production rooms owned by the center free of charge. The center's opening ceremony was held online due to the resurgence of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
