In this evaluation, Suncheon City received an overall excellent rating in 20 items across three areas including landslide prevention response and forest resource cultivation, through interdepartmental cooperation, earning the honor of winning for three consecutive years following the Grand Prize in 2018 and the Grand Prize last year.
In particular, Suncheon achieved consistently high scores compared to other local governments in all fields such as ‘forest resource cultivation,’ ‘urban forest creation including fine dust prevention projects,’ ‘forest recreation,’ ‘disaster prevention,’ and ‘new project discovery.’
With this award, Suncheon City will receive a prize money of 4 million won and priority allocation of the budget for hopeful projects next year, giving further momentum to the promotion of forest administration.
