Gurye-gun Abolishes Support Obligation for Livelihood Benefit Recipients Starting 2021
Households Including Elderly and Single-Parent Families Are Exempt from Support Obligation Criteria
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] On the 22nd, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will abolish the application of the support obligation criteria for livelihood benefit recipients 20 years after the implementation of the National Basic Livelihood Security System.
Accordingly, even if there are support obligors such as sons or daughters, livelihood benefits can be provided as long as the recipient's own household meets the criteria.
The support obligation criteria will continue to be applied to support obligors with high income and high assets (annual income of 100 million KRW, assets of 900 million KRW or more).
The median income for the selection and payment criteria of livelihood benefits in 2021 has been increased by 2.68% compared to this year (based on a four-person household).
Gurye-gun plans to conduct intensive publicity for two months from December 2020 to January 2021 to focus on promoting the changes in the system in 2021.
