Gyeongnam National University Hosts Performance Forum for University Innovation Support Project in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam Regions
Sharing Best Practices of Educational Innovation at 10 Regional Universities
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gyeongnam National University announced on the 22nd that it held the ‘2020 University Innovation Support Project Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam Region Performance Forum’ at Paradise Hotel in Busan Metropolitan City.
This forum, under the theme of ‘University Education Innovation in the Untact Era,’ was hosted by the Gyeongnam National University University Innovation Support Project Group and organized by the University Innovation Support Project Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam Region Council.
Only a minimum number of participants, including presenters, attended on-site, and the event was broadcast live via YouTube. Representatives from 17 universities in the Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam area shared their achievements online.
In the keynote lecture, Professor Kim Seong-yeol of Gyeongnam National University (President of the Korean Educational Society) spoke on the topic ‘Challenges of University Education in the Post(with) COVID-19 Era,’ presenting on the changed daily life of universities due to COVID-19 and the new normal of university education, ‘remote education.’
Additionally, in the first session of the forum, Professor Park Kyung-hoon of Changwon National University introduced ‘Operation Achievements of Regional Specialized Field-Linked Shared Double Majors,’ Professor Joo Eun-ha of Jinju National University of Education presented on ‘Strengthening Maker Education Competency for Pre-service Teachers,’ Professor Park Jin-hyung of Youngsan University shared ‘Cases of Student Participation Active Learning (AL) Course Operation,’ and Professor Lee Hye-joo of Silla University introduced ‘Cases of Competency-Based Liberal Arts Education Course Operation.’
In the second session, Professor Lee Soo-nam of Pusan National University presented on ‘Management of Student Core Competencies in the On-tact Era,’ Professor Son Soo-jung of Dong-Eui University spoke about ‘Dong-Eui University’s Online Customized Career and Employment Education,’ Professor Oh Ji-young of Dong-A University introduced ‘Establishment of an On-Learning Based Education Innovation System in the New Normal Era,’ and Professor Lee Ji-eun of Dongmyung University presented on ‘Introduction and Operation of Service Learning for Community Cooperation and Volunteering.’
In the final third session, Professor Hwang In-seop of Kyungsung University spoke on ‘Advancement of Innovative Curriculum,’ and Professor Jeon Young-rok of Gyeongnam National University (Dean of Liberal Arts Convergence) presented on ‘Competency-Based Liberal Arts Education ? Development and Operation of Classical Reading Courses.’
