The ‘2020 Volunteer Evaluation’ is conducted across all volunteer activities including volunteer activity performance, volunteer activation, and volunteer group participation performance targeting 22 cities and counties in Jeonnam.
This year, Wando County focused on creating a warm community through volunteer activation and practicing love for neighbors by monitoring the COVID-19 situation, conducting comprehensive volunteer work on remote islands, making masks, volunteering for side dishes for neighbors in need, flood recovery volunteer activities in Gokseong, repairing houses in welfare blind spots, and helping with farm and fishery work.
In particular, it was highly evaluated for not only supporting flood recovery in Gokseong last August but also for carrying out comprehensive volunteer work by visiting remote islands to ensure there are no welfare blind spots, reflecting the geographical characteristics of the county formed by island areas, which led to receiving the encouragement award.
