KB Mobile Certificate, Selected as Finalist for Public Sector Electronic Signature Pilot Project
Available on public websites such as Hometax Year-end Tax Settlement Simplification, Government24, and 국민신문고
The only private certificate in the banking sector, widely used by 6 million customers with KB Mobile Certificate
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 21st that its KB Mobile Certificate has been selected as the final operator in the pilot project for expanding electronic signatures in the public sector, led by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
This pilot project aims to enhance accessibility by introducing a simple signature service in major public sector sites such as the National Tax Service, Government24, and the People’s Petition, in addition to the existing public certification system.
Since being selected as a candidate for the pilot project at the end of September, KB Kookmin Bank underwent a strict evaluation process including on-site inspections and tests of the safety and security levels of its authentication system, and was the only bank to be chosen as the final operator. As a result, customers who have obtained the KB Mobile Certificate will be able to conveniently use public websites for year-end tax settlement, certificate issuance, and more starting January next year.
Launched in July last year, the KB Mobile Certificate is currently used by 6 million customers. Over the past year, the average monthly number of authentications has reached approximately 26 million, proving its stability and security. The KB Mobile Certificate can be easily issued through the KB Star Banking app and allows access to all financial services.
One unique advantage of the KB Mobile Certificate is that it has no expiration date, eliminating the hassle of annual renewal. It is also available for use in major KB Financial Group affiliates’ applications, including KB Securities, KB Card, KB Insurance, KB Life Insurance, and KB Savings Bank.
In particular, customers who have difficulty issuing certificates non-face-to-face, such as the digitally marginalized, can visit a nearby branch to receive a one-time application number and easily obtain the KB Mobile Certificate.
