Yeonggwang-gun Receives 'Best Award' for Regional Economic Revitalization Evaluation
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seong-jeong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 21st that it won the 'Grand Prize' in the 2020 Regional Economic Revitalization Evaluation hosted by Jeollanam-do on the 18th.
Yeonggwang-gun received an institutional commendation along with a prize money of 10 million won for this award.
This evaluation, aimed at discovering and encouraging excellent cases of economic policies among 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do to improve the quality of life of local residents and revitalize the regional economy, assessed the achievements over the year in 13 indicators across 6 areas including ▲regional economic revitalization policies ▲price stabilization management ▲support and fostering of small and medium enterprises and small business owners ▲industrial complex revitalization.
The county received favorable evaluations for regional economic revitalization policies such as issuing 35 billion won worth of Yeonggwang Love Gift Certificates, interest support for 125 small business owners' COVID-19 management stabilization funds, sales commission support for 724 Yeonggwang Love Card stores, and renovation and environmental improvement of aging facilities in traditional markets.
Additionally, policies supporting small business owners and traditional markets, rental support for dormitories in industrial complexes for 17 companies and 69 people, implementation of a one-company-one-manager system for 80 companies, and expansion of exports of excellent agricultural, marine, and specialty products received high evaluations for supporting small and medium enterprises and revitalizing industrial complexes.
