Hanwha Group Launches Digital Campaign on 'Carbon-Reducing Technologies'
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Hanwha Group is conducting a digital campaign introducing eco-friendly technologies in everyday life. Through Hanwha Group's YouTube channel, they presented 'Sustainable Eco-friendly Technologies - Carbon Reduction Technologies' with stylish videos.
The video states that the daily carbon emission per person in everyday life is 33,900g and introduces five technologies in daily life that can reduce carbon emissions.
The first carbon reduction technology is to use one eco bag more than 131 times. Using the same eco bag more than 131 times can reduce the carbon equivalent to one disposable plastic bag. The second is deleting 10% of accumulated emails. Deleting 10% of emails eliminates unnecessary power consumption and can reduce 1 ton of carbon annually. The third is receiving one mobile receipt per day. This can reduce 14.6kg of carbon annually. The fourth is using one plastic tumbler more than 17 times. Using one tumbler more than 17 times can reduce the carbon equivalent to one disposable paper cup. The fifth is turning off video streaming before going to bed. Many people leave video streaming on while sleeping, but turning it off can reduce 3.2kg of carbon per hour.
Since the video was first uploaded on December 7, it has recorded one million views as of the 21st, drawing positive responses from netizens.
The coronavirus that shook the world, climate change, and global warming have increased concerns and interest in the future and the environment more than ever. In this social atmosphere, this campaign was planned with the purpose of introducing eco-friendly technologies in daily life that everyone can practice to create a sustainable tomorrow.
Starting from the 18th, an internal employee participation campaign will begin, and simultaneously, a campaign to encourage consumer practice and participation will be launched through Hanwha Group's SNS channels, continuing until early next year.
