Kim Tae-nyeon "Legislation on Serious Accident Punishment Act and Living Logistics Act Must Accelerate" Proposes Schedule Negotiation to Opposition Party
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Kim Tae-nyeon, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, proposed on the 21st that the opposition party, the People Power Party, negotiate the National Assembly's legislative schedule, emphasizing the need to accelerate the enactment of the Serious Accident Punishment Act and the Living Logistics Act. The intention is to hold plenary sessions and standing committee meetings to pass the bills as soon as possible.
At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, Floor Leader Kim said, "The people’s tasks must be solved together by both ruling and opposition parties," and added, "I respectfully propose to the opposition party to negotiate the legislative schedule for the temporary session, including standing committees and plenary sessions."

He also revealed, "The Democratic Party held a policy lawmakers' meeting last week to discuss the Serious Accident Punishment Act." He continued, "Both ruling and opposition parties, including the People Power Party, have promised to legislate this bill," emphasizing, "Both sides must put their heads together and speed up the legislation as soon as possible."
Floor Leader Kim also urged the prompt enactment of legislation to protect essential workers, including the Living Logistics Act. He said, "The Living Logistics Act, which aims to prevent overwork deaths among delivery workers, has mostly resolved disagreements and issues among the parties involved, and I believe the conditions for legislation are sufficiently ripe," adding, "Legislation that systematically supports essential workers, such as the Living Logistics Act, must be swiftly pursued."
