Gangnam Group Deducts 1,000 Won from Salaries to Provide Stationery to Impoverished Children
Gangnam Group deducted 1,000 won from the salaries of employees who wished to participate and used the additional contributions made by the company to provide stationery to children in poverty.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Gangnam Group, the parent company of Gangnam Jevisco Co., Ltd., announced on the 21st that it donated stationery worth 30 million KRW to children from low-income families through its own brand 'Munhwa Yeonpil' as part of its year-end social contribution activities.
This donation was carried out through donations collected from employees who wished to participate, with a monthly deduction of 1,000 KRW from their salaries over eight months starting from April, along with matching grants from the company. The donation involved seven companies within Gangnam Group: the paint company Gangnam Jevisco Co., Ltd., automotive coating manufacturer KNK Coatings Co., Ltd., precision chemical company Gangnam Hwaseong Co., Ltd., composite materials and stationery company Gangnam KPI Co., Ltd., shipbuilding manufacturer Gangnam Co., Ltd., general construction company Gangnam Geonyeong Co., Ltd., and IT specialist company Gangnam I-Tech Co., Ltd. This initiative is called 'Happiness of One Thousand Won.'
The donated items will be delivered to children through the 'Buseuregi Sarang Nanumhoe,' an organization that has been continuously supporting children in impoverished environments for 35 years.

A Gangnam Group official stated, "Among the donated items are writing instruments bearing messages such as 'Hand Washing,' 'For You and Me,' and '#ThanksToYou,' which are meaningful in the context of overcoming COVID-19." He added, "Gangnam Group affiliates will continue to promote a culture of sharing through CSR activities and persistently carry out social contribution activities for children from low-income families."
