NHN Directly Trains 'IT Talent'... Establishes Academy
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] NHN is establishing a specialized educational institution, 'NHN Academy,' to nurture software talent.
According to NHN on the 21st, NHN Academy is preparing to open in July next year.
NHN Academy will collaborate with universities to provide IT education and employment opportunities to non-majors in the computing field.
Currently, competition to secure excellent IT personnel is fierce across all industries, including artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, and data fields. However, university quotas in the computing field are limited, and the supply of personnel cannot meet the demand.
To address this shortage of IT talent, NHN plans to offer opportunities for non-IT majors to acquire basic IT knowledge through cooperation between universities and companies. After receiving practical training at NHN Academy, they will support employment opportunities in various IT job sectors.
Also, since revitalizing the IT industry and nurturing talent based on local regions is necessary, the first NHN Academy center will be established in the Gyeongnam region, not the metropolitan area, with plans to expand to other regions later.
From the second semester of 2021, the NHN Track, which allows students at 17 universities participating in the Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Platform Project to take IT specialized courses required by companies, will open. Students who complete the NHN Track during the semester will be eligible to apply to NHN Academy and receive practical training through NHN Academy.
