Lotte Department Store Offers Premium Home Appliance Discounts for Year-End
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Department Store is holding a premium home appliance discount event to meet the increased demand for gifts at the end of the year.
First, Lotte Department Store is offering discounts on premium coffee machines. Until January 17 next year, the main store, Jamsil branch, Jungdong branch, and Gwangju branch will sell ‘Jura’ fully automatic coffee machines (J6) and ‘Breville’ semi-automatic coffee machines Barista Pro at a 20% discount. In addition, at 16 stores in the metropolitan area including the main store, Jamsil branch, Yeongdeungpo branch, and Nowon branch, ‘De'Longhi’ Primadonna fully automatic espresso machines will be sold at a 50% discount until the 31st.
For premium audio equipment, ‘Bang & Olufsen’ will offer up to 25% discount on display products at the main store and Busan main store until the 31st. ‘Flint’, which gathers hobby electronics in one place, has prepared an event offering up to 10% discount on healthcare and premium audio products.
Along with this, due to the escalation of social distancing measures and the suspension of indoor sports facilities such as gyms and fitness centers, a pop-up store for the top-tier home fitness equipment brand ‘TechnoGym’ will be introduced for customers seeking premium exercise equipment. It will be held at Lotte Department Store’s main store for one month starting from the 21st, with a 10% discount during the event period.
Meanwhile, this year, due to the prolonged time spent at home caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), sales of home appliances have significantly increased. In particular, as cafe usage was restricted due to the escalation of social distancing levels and more people enjoyed the leisure of home cafes, interest in premium coffee machines and audio equipment greatly increased.
Looking at Lotte Department Store’s home appliance sales from January to November this year, the home appliance category grew by 23% compared to the previous year. Sales of high-end coffee machines priced over 1 million won, such as Jura, Breville, and De'Longhi, increased by 42%, and sales of imported audio equipment such as Bang & Olufsen and Geneva increased by 16%. In addition, popular healthcare brands such as Ceragem, Bodyfriend, Osim, and Panasonic massage products showed good performance, with massage chairs and spinal medical appliances growing 43% compared to the previous year.
