[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] The number of new daily confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea approached 1,100. This marks the fifth consecutive day.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on the 20th, there were 1,097 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 49,665.
Following the numbers from the 16th to the 19th (1,078 → 1,014 → 1,064 → 1,053), the number has exceeded 1,000 for five consecutive days.
The previous record was 1,078 cases on the 16th, but it was broken again after four days.
Regarding the infection routes of the new confirmed cases on this day, 1,072 were locally transmitted and 25 were imported cases.
