Dobong-gu 'WeMakeMusic 2020' Audition Attracts Over 10,000 Participants
On the 18th, 'WeMakeMusic 2020' announced 20 awardees on YouTube... Awardees will receive support for music and video production using Changdong Gong-eum Studio and Eum Studio
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) will reveal the 20 winning teams (10 general teams, 10 youth teams) of the online creative support audition ‘WeMakeMusic 2020 (WMM 2020)’ on YouTube on the 18th.
The winners will be given the opportunity to produce music tracks and videos at Gong-eum Studio and Eum Studio located near Changdong Station.
Dobong-gu and Seoul City previously held the nationwide creative support audition ‘WeMakeMusic 2020 (WMM 2020)’ online from November 2 to December 4, targeting independent music creators across the country, in collaboration with ‘HipHopLE,’ the largest hip-hop webzine in Korea.
Top domestic musicians The Quiett, Changmo, Sunwoo Jung-a, Jinbo, Girin, and Younha participated as hosts, releasing their sample packs (music sources) for free and conducting a music production contest.
The audition closed with a hot response, with a total of 9,519 music creators participating.
Moreover, the sample pack work videos by the musician hosts released on YouTube recorded 300,000 views, showing how thirsty independent music creators were for such content.
The final 20 selected participants (10 general, 10 youth) were chosen through judging by the musicians who provided the sample packs.
The selected teams will be announced on the 18th via the OPCD YouTube and HipHopLE YouTube channels, and an album will be released in January with producing support from the host musicians.
In this way, the district plans to actively support the selected creators to continue their music creation activities in Changdong even after the audition ends.
