According to Gwangju City on the 17th, as of 6 p.m. that day, one contact of Gwangju case number 789 with an unknown infection route and one person who entered from overseas tested positive, classified as Gwangju cases 841 and 842.
The total number of confirmed cases so far today is three (Gwangju cases 840 to 843).
Case 841 is related to case 789, whose infection route is being traced by health authorities. He tested positive in a diagnostic test after symptoms appeared during self-quarantine.
Case 842, who entered from the United States, tested positive while quarantined at the Gwangju Fire Academy dormitory.
In Gwangju, the number of people classified as contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases has reached 21,481, of whom 1,713 are currently in self-quarantine.
