Highly Pathogenic AI Confirmed at Hwaseong Laying Hen Farm and Gochang Meat Duck Farm
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] On the 17th, highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) was confirmed at a laying hen farm in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, and a meat duck farm in Gochang, Jeonbuk.
The Central Avian Influenza Countermeasures Headquarters announced that after conducting detailed inspections on the two farms suspected the previous day, they were confirmed to have highly pathogenic AI. So far, including the two cases confirmed on this day, there have been 17 confirmed cases of highly pathogenic AI at domestic poultry farms.

The headquarters carried out preventive culling of poultry within a 3 km radius of the affected farms. Additionally, movement restrictions and AI mass testing will be enforced for 30 days on poultry farms within a 10 km radius. All poultry farms in the affected areas will have movement restrictions for 7 days.
