According to Gwangju City on the 17th, as of 2 PM that day, one person (Gwangju case number 840) was confirmed positive, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 840.
Case 840 is a resident of Usan-dong, Gwangsan-gu, and the infection route has not yet been identified. It is understood that he visited the Usan-dong Administrative Welfare Center.
The quarantine authorities closed the center and conducted disinfection and other preventive measures.
They are also identifying contacts of case 840 and conducting thorough investigations.
So far, a total of 269,020 people have been tested in Gwangju, and 2,168 are awaiting test results.
