Damyang-gun Promotes '2021 New Year Practical Education for Farmers'
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yuk-bong] Damyang County, Jeollanam-do (County Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 17th that it will promote the '2021 New Year Practical Education for Farmers' to practice sustainable agriculture, a core local industry.
The Agricultural Technology Center will conduct practical education for farmers from January 16 to February 23 next year to establish new year farming plans, disseminate newly developed technologies, and solve customized current issues needed by farmers.
The New Year Practical Education for Farmers is specialized in agricultural technology and has established 8 courses in 7 major crops, including high-quality eco-friendly agricultural product production technology, rice, strawberries (soil cultivation, hydroponics), tomatoes, grapes and peaches cultivation core technologies responding to changes in consumer trends, and value-added agriculture such as Korean beef and beekeeping.
Considering the prevention of COVID-19 spread, all courses will be conducted online. For rice farming, pre-recorded educational videos will be broadcasted via the county's YouTube channel, and other courses will be conducted in real-time online using platforms with small groups of up to 50 people.
Until now, education schedules required on-site registration and attendance, but for the New Year farming education courses, participants must apply in advance after checking the schedule to participate.
Advance applications can be made by phone or visit to each Eup/Myeon Agricultural Counseling Office from the 21st of this month to February 11.
