View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] The Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education announced on the 17th that it will hold the finals of the '2020 Non-face-to-face National School Sports Club Festival' on the 19th to promote students' physical activity and health through non-face-to-face sports participation.
The Non-face-to-face National School Sports Club Festival was organized to address issues caused by the decline in students' physical activity and to support students feeling emotional isolation due to social distancing.
The finalists are the representative students from each city and province who recorded the highest scores among the preliminary competition video submissions. Participating students compete by submitting performance videos according to the competition guidelines for each event.
The finals include six events: Jegichagi, badminton, sport stacking, juggling, jump rope, and burpee ten. One male and one female student from elementary, middle, and high schools participate as representatives from each city and province, with 32 students competing from Gyeongbuk.

Lee Seong-hee, Director of the Physical Education and Health Division, stated, "In the social crisis situation such as the spread of COVID-19, participation in non-face-to-face sports activities is expected to greatly contribute to the activation of school sports in Gyeongbuk by alleviating students' emotional isolation and increasing physical activity."
