Regarding the approval of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's two-month disciplinary suspension, the party urged him to "show a posture of self-restraint and reflection."

View original imageDemocratic Party spokesperson Heo Young held a briefing at the National Assembly in the afternoon and stated, "We express deep respect for Minister Choo's decision, who laid the historic cornerstone for prosecutorial reform and reform of power institutions."
He added about Minister Choo, "She faithfully fulfilled the duty of prosecutorial reform and achieved great results with the launch of the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency (Gong-su-cheo) and prosecutorial reform," emphasizing, "We once again express deep respect for her decision."
Regarding Prosecutor General Yoon, he said, "He will remain the first Prosecutor General in constitutional history to receive a two-month suspension," and added, "Since the appointing authority, the president, has approved it, he must humbly accept the outcome as a public official."
He continued, "The necessity of prosecutorial reform has become even clearer," and raised his voice, saying, "The Democratic Party will steadfastly continue the reform of power institutions."
