"Mistaking the accelerator for the brake"... A driver in their 70s crashes a passenger car into the sea

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] An accident occurred where a passenger car fell into the sea after the driver mistook the accelerator pedal for the brake.
At around 11 a.m. on the 16th, a Genesis passenger car reversing near Gangguan in Hangnam-dong, Tongyeong-si, Gyeongnam, fell into the sea.
The driver, Mr. A, in his 70s, escaped on his own and was reported to have no serious injuries.
The Tongyeong Coast Guard, who responded to the report, transported Mr. A to the hospital and then used a crane to recover the vehicle.
The driver told the Coast Guard, "I accidentally pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake."
The Coast Guard is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on the driver's statement.
