This message is a COVID-19 overcoming encouragement from Jinhu Kim, a 3rd-grade elementary school student living in Jungnang-gu.
Although everyone is tired and struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, not all news is bleak.
A warm donation story from a child living in Muk 1-dong, Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi), is giving a heartwarming impression.
The district announced on the 9th that Jinhu Kim (10), a resident of the area, donated 50 children's masks worth about 50,000 KRW, which he had saved little by little from his allowance to help overcome COVID-19.
Jinhu Kim, who attends Wonmuk Elementary School, recalled his experience of taking a COVID-19 test after a confirmed case occurred at his school recently and said he wanted to help neighbors struggling due to COVID-19 by donating goods.
In particular, he also delivered a letter explaining his motivation for the donation and a self-written poem titled "The Theft of Corona," which reportedly added to the emotional impact on those receiving the donated items.
After reading Jinhu Kim's letter, Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "It seems that the COVID-19 thief came to Wonmuk Elementary School to steal the students' daily lives but left empty-handed after seeing the students love each other. I am very grateful." He added, "I believe that if the hearts of Jungnang-gu residents, like Jinhu Kim, come together to overcome COVID-19, we will definitely be able to conquer it," and personally delivered a handwritten letter of thanks to Jinhu Kim.
The donated children's masks will be distributed to children from low-income single-parent families through the Muk 1-dong Community Service Center.

◇To those who need masks (Page 1)
Hello. I am Jinhu Kim from Class 7, 3rd grade at Wonmuk Elementary School.
These days, the COVID-19 situation is really tough, isn't it?
I also had to take a COVID test because a confirmed case occurred at my school.
Fortunately, my result was negative. I didn't expect COVID-19 to come so close.
Since COVID-19 is so near, I thought about ways I could help.
Also, I said about a month ago that I would donate,
but I only said it and didn't act, so I am really sorry.
I should have donated more and earlier.
COVID-19 is getting worse, so please take care of your health and avoid going out.
And please wear the masks I sent and stay strong.
Goodbye.
