Toll Fees to Decrease on Seoul?Chuncheon and Daegu?Busan Expressways Starting Late This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] From the end of this year, toll fees on the Seoul?Chuncheon Expressway and the Daegu?Busan Expressway will be reduced.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on the 16th that it held a Private Investment Project Deliberation Committee meeting chaired by Deputy Minister An Ilhwan, where seven agenda items, including the reduction of expressway toll fees, were reviewed and approved.
The committee approved the amendment implementation agreements for the Seoul?Chuncheon Expressway and the Daegu?Busan Expressway projects, respectively.
The toll fee for the Seoul?Chuncheon Expressway will be lowered from the current 5,700 won to 4,100 won, and the toll fee for the Daegu?Busan Expressway will be reduced from the current 10,500 won to 5,000 won.
The committee designated the Western Line light rail transit (urban railway) project, connecting Saejeol Station (Subway Line 6) in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, and Seoul National University Station (Subway Line 2) in Gwanak-gu, as a private investment project and approved the third-party proposal announcement plan.
Additionally, the Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to designate a negotiation partner in the first half of next year after the third-party proposal announcement.
The committee also designated the Metropolitan Area Express Railway Line C (GTX-C) project, which introduces a super-high-speed metropolitan railway with a maximum speed of 180 km/h on the Deokjeong?Suwon section (74.8 km), as a private investment project and approved the basic plan for the private investment facility project. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to designate a negotiation partner in the first half of next year.
The committee concluded that the modernization project of the cable car at Geumgang Park in Busan is appropriate as a private investment project facility.
