Suspension of Metropolitan Area Academy Gathering Ban Denied... Academies Continue to Demand Withdrawal
Court: "COVID-19 Crisis Response Has Negative Impact"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Korea Academy Federation filed an injunction to suspend the enforcement of the government's Level 3 social distancing gathering ban, but it was not accepted.
According to the Academy Federation on the 16th, the Seoul Administrative Court dismissed the injunction filed by the Federation against the Ministry of Health and Welfare, stating that "it could have an adverse effect on the management of the COVID-19 situation."
Earlier, the Academy Federation applied for the injunction to suspend enforcement, arguing that "although there are quarantine guidelines for each distancing level, the exceptional Level 3 gathering ban imposed on academies in the metropolitan area is clearly an abuse of government authority."
The government raised social distancing in the metropolitan area to Level 2.5 from the 8th to the 28th and imposed a Level 3 gathering ban on academies.
