Jangseong-gun Wins 'Grand Prize' in Local Road Maintenance Evaluation
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) announced on the 16th that it won the top prize, the 'Grand Prize,' in the '2020 Local Road Maintenance Evaluation' hosted by Jeollanam-do.
The 'Local Road Maintenance Evaluation' is a system in which Jeollanam-do inspects and evaluates the maintenance status of local roads in accordance with Article 31 of the Road Act and Article 6 of the Regulations on Road Maintenance and Repair.
This year, the county invested 11.1 billion KRW to open roads on 15 routes.
To ensure the safety of road users, the county actively carried out maintenance of safety facilities and defective roads, lane painting, roadside grass cutting, snow removal, bridge repair and reinforcement, and prompt handling of civil complaints over 212 routes covering 469 km, receiving high evaluations.
The county invested 7.1 billion KRW to resolve 232 resident-demand projects, including paving farm roads.
During the rainy season in August, the county focused on minimizing residents' inconvenience by promptly conducting emergency repairs on roads damaged by heavy rain.
The county is also preparing to launch groundbreaking projects to create convenient traffic conditions and confirmed the installation of the Highpass IC in Jangseong-eup last October.
In addition, the Highpass IC entrance and exit roads connecting to the Honam Expressway will be installed near the center of Jangseong-eup, expanding residents' convenience and promoting urban growth and development.
