Sangju-si Awarded 'Best Excellence' in Gyeongbuk's 23 Cities and Counties Evaluation for 'Special Vegetable Cultivation' Field

Sangju City received high marks for securing and executing national and provincial budgets, practicing future-oriented advanced agriculture such as the Smart Farm ICT Convergence Support Project, participation and efforts in government policies, discovering new policies, and cooperation in work.
Having won the Grand Prize in the 2018 evaluation and the Excellence Award in 2019, Sangju City was honored to receive the Grand Prize again, achieving an award for three consecutive years. The award ceremony was not held due to the COVID-19 situation.
Gyeongbuk Province evaluates vegetable special crop policies to enhance the competitiveness of Gyeongbuk agriculture by discovering new income crops suitable for the characteristics of cities and counties, and awards outstanding cities and counties with the Governor's institutional commendation along with prize money.

Mayor Kang Young-seok of Sangju City welcomed the news of the award, saying, "We will spare no administrative support to increase farmers' income so that we can continue to maintain the status as the best local government in promoting vegetable special crop policies."
