'Report Claiming Need for Adjustment of Regional Health Disparities' Wins Top Prize at Statistical Data Analysis Competition
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A report from Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Health titled 'A Review on the Necessity of Adjusting Medical Resources According to Regional Health Disparities' won the grand prize at the Statistics Korea Data Analysis and Utilization Contest.
On the 16th, Statistics Korea announced the winners of the '2020 Data Analysis and Utilization Contest,' held as part of expanding the use of data, a core task of the Digital New Deal, and government innovation. A total of 129 teams from various fields, including students and researchers, participated in the contest, submitting 53 reports and posters by analyzing and linking various data sources such as statistical data, private data, and Statistical Geographic Information System (SGIS) data.

In this regard, Kang Shinwook, Commissioner of Statistics Korea, said, "We thank everyone who actively participated in the Data Analysis and Utilization Contest and congratulate the winners," adding, "In a situation where the importance of data is increasing due to COVID-19 and other factors, Statistics Korea will take the lead in establishing a foundation so that many citizens can access high-quality data."
